A highly impactful accident scene is featured in this 16 x 20 inch (40cm x 50cm) safety poster brings home the "Call Before You Dig" message. It clearly shows what can happen if underground lines are not located, marked and avoided.

This poster depicts a scraper in flames after hitting a 12-inch gas main on a road project in Virginia. The backhoe next to the scraper was also damaged, but operators of both machines escaped without injury. When gas escaping from the damaged line ignited, flames shot 35 feet in the air and caused brush fires on both sides of the road. Authorities closed the road for several hours while the fires were brought under control and the gas was shut off.
