An Appetite for Change?

Underground utility protection in the U.S. is at a crossroads. As the nation’s economy continues to recover and new construction is rising, do we have a chance at reducing the rate of damage? On the downstream side of damage prevention, we’ve done the same thing since the 1950’s, although today we have better paint and we’ve stopped driving wooden stakes in the ground.

On the upstream side of U.S. damage prevention, our one-call centers have raised the damage prevention bar around the world for 40 years. But tools and processes used to avoid damage are changing in other parts of the world. It’s unclear whether we’ll stay entrenched in the fading success of the past, or embrace the technology and promise of tomorrow’s damage prevention solutions. Our new Trilogy series shines a spotlight on these issues and more.

Does the U.S. have an appetite for change? Will we learn from others who may be passing us by? If you’re a player in the industry, join the conversation. Subscribe to Underground Focus today. If you’re a really big player, you need to partner with us to help shape the future of damage prevention. Not just here, but around the world.
